CYLINDER MATERIAL TESTS.

The Iron foundry are producing loose liners for comparative tests on Wraith, to determine the merits of certain materials relative to cylinder bore wear.

With reference to the memo. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/VS.{J. Vickers}1/JJ.9.8.38. we would like a sample ring of each material mentioned, to be supplied, so that they may be despatched to an Engineering Laboratory at Cambridge. These test rings should be 1.000" wide each turned from a completely finished liner.

We understand that you have sanctioned the finishing of three liners of each type. To produce these samples therefore, it will be necessary to finish an extra liner of each type.
