Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}23/L26513 (contd) 2. making an examination of this. When this has been done and we have found how to make the way through bigger it will be re-erected and tested at high speeds on the dynamometer. I will report the results of the tests as soon as they have been made. X.93 - Explosions in the Silencer. This matter is so very old that we are sending to Mr Royce a copy of his original notes on the subject as it is very likely he will cancel some of the instructions or revise them. X.457 - Steering Wobbles. I have made several tests and obtained some particulars of various makes of cars as follows. Daimler. Dia. of steering wheel 16" Wire wheels 920 X 120. Steering reversible one way only, i.e. to off side. I have not yet investigated as to why this should be. Possibly a different kind of thrust bearing one way or may be something wrong in fitting up. To move the road wheels through 60° the steering wheel moves through 552°. Full lock of front wheels is 62°. This car wobbles quite as badly as R.R. when out of balance but is not so pronounced on the steering wheel Handwritten text on left margin: X426 | ||
