RE COUPLING FOR MAGNETO. X.2462 X.2553

With reference to the coupling for the magneto, Mr. Elliott and I have considered this, and suggest that it might be worth while testing a pair of couplings made of leather or fabric, which would have the advantages of being silent, requiring no lubrication, and not being subject to any dust troubles.

To enable the magneto to be taken down fairly easily, we might introduce an ordinary flanged coupling in a convenient position on the tubing between the two couplings. This would be definite/marked so as to be easy of replacement in the correct position.

I am quite in agreement, however, for you to also have made some of the serrated drives which we have lately favoured, and especially as they can be made on the Fellows Gear Shaper with such great accuracy and freedom from backlash.
