Dear Nichols,

Thank you for your letter of February 10th. I am under no illusion with regard to the underseat heater, but it has the merit of being suitable for fitting in the car body in a central position.

It can therefore warm both front and rear occupants, and does not require a mass of piping to convey the hot air from its source to the persons who require warmth.

We have not fitted defrosters to the few Bentley V's that have been put on the road, because we had not a satisfactory scheme. We now have a reasonably good scheme running about, but it is not so good at defrosting as the electrical unit. Also when the defroster is functioning, the occupants of the car get frozen.

We have no unit from you at present which has sufficient hot air capacity to warm the occupants of the front seats, and at the same time direct a sufficiently powerful jet of hot air on-to the screen to defrost.

Yours sincerely,
