Dear Robotham,

I have traced the American Underseat Heater sample and am hoping for its return during the next day or so.

Meantime, may I explain that whilst the Americans have made a fuss about this, it really amounts to nothing as any efficient unit can be mounted anywhere so long as the heat is led to the necessary points. It is really all a question of convenience of location to suit the particular chassis and coachwork arrangements.

The dual blower which we are aiming at, we are hoping will have sufficient power to grapple successfully with the problem of heating and defrosting.

I shall be very disappointed if we are unable to satisfy your every requirement.

By the way, when comparing notes with Mr.Geoffrey Smith a day or two since he mentioned that he was pleased with the heater fitted to his Bentley but that the hot air duct arrangements to the screen were not taken care of. In my humble opinion this is the most desirable feature of a heater.

I must make strenuous efforts in the endeavour to facilitate early production of one of our new samples. Am so sorry that difficulties of production will not permit of 'blitz' methods.

Thanks in anticipation for your kind indulgence.

Sincerely yours,
Charles Durand
