X.4430. 20 HP. CHASSIS CONDENSER.

VARIOUS MODIFICATIONS FROM THE ORIGINAL STANDARD.

(1) Extra millboard packing, represented by condenser No.494. This is of no further interest in view of modifications below.

(2) Rivets through lid {A. J. Lidsey} replaced by sweated nuts and bolts. This was standardised without a special condenser being made up, as it was an obviously better job from inspection of the completed lid. {A. J. Lidsey}

(3) Improved connections to Lec.1745, embodied in condenser 1C., being reported upon to EX. on 15.7.24. (Doubled connector on insulated side, and extra connector which is soldered to lid {A. J. Lidsey} on earthed side. Bulge in lid {A. J. Lidsey} ). Suggested for standardisation.

(4) Connecting strips wrapped in tin foil of condenser, embodied in condensers 1C1 and 1C2, which have been put through capacity temperature tests.

(5) Earthing terminal on condenser. This has been put in abeyance in view of other modifications above.
