To BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /C. from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T15.7.24.

X.4430 - GOSHAWK CONDENSER.

With further reference to BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /RD5/ML27.6.24 and further to our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 6/T3.7.24, our remarks re condenser with new connections to L&C.1745, are as follows :-

Only one condenser, designated 1C, has been made to this L&C. This was received from the shop on 18.10.23, and satisfactorily underwent our production test. Then it was put on experimental chassis 6-GII and remained on that car until 10,826 miles had been completed, no trouble having been experienced with same. It was then further tested in our laboratory and the capacity found to have varied but slightly, being only a little below the limit both at the commencement and at the end of the test.

The condenser is handed to you herewith for your inspection. You will notice that it has not got the up-to-date riveting of the connection through the lid. {A. J. Lidsey}

You will appreciate that should it be desired to standardise this feature, the 10,000 mile test necessary for such standardisation, has been completed.

Will you take up the matter with By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} as to whether a standardisation sheet should be prepared.

EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer}
