Re. RADIO SETS.

Replying to your LE.2/C.9.2.35., we see no reason why we should alter our requirements that all radio sets should have their battery feed wire taken from the accessory fuses provided on our distribution board which means the current is autimatically taken through the ammeter.

We should like you to ascertain why Messrs.Phillips object to the current passing through the ammeter.

Presumably we cannot prevent customers having radio sets tapped direct from the battery but we ought to deprecate such action as any electrical failure of the R.R. System due to bad wiring on the part of radio installation contractors would be deplorable.

It would certainly be difficult to persuade customers that any electrical failure was not our responsibility on new cars fitted with radio.
