E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/MH.{M. Huckerby}23.4.36 re 25/30 HP. CHASSIS ("L2" SERIES) --------------------------------- With reference to our report on the above ref. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/MH.{M. Huckerby}21.4.36, and dealing with item (2), i.e. Carburation. This matter has had rather concentrated attention during the last day or so (Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} having Mr. Fisher of Messrs.Stromberg on the job with him). The results are much more satisfactory, and although the carburation still has a tendency for the troubles complained of, they are now nothing like so marked or disagreeable. The question of correct tune of the engine, however, seems to be an important point, and the importance of correct ignition plugs, spark gaps, petrol supply and petrol level, etc. are features which we should make clear in our Instruction Book in connection with this carburetter. The chief source of complaint is now the "spitting in the exhaust" on retard. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
