an approx mileage of 2900, causing a failure of the starter motor. It was noticed at the same time that the lugs from the plates had become loose in the bakelite casing, and looked as if they would quickly cause trouble. With the exception, however, of slightly more looseness, no failure has occurred. The battery has kept fully charged with very little loss of water, the total amount being 1/2 of a pint. The battery box and suspension have given no trouble.

DISTRIBUTOR to L.O.P.D.71648.
IGNITION COIL to L.O.P.D.74303.
BALLAST RESISTANCE to L.O.P.D.70843.

Heat shield fitted to ballast resistance.

The battery ignition has given no trouble. The condition of the contacts is very good, the best we have had for some time during these tests.

D.W.S. JACKS FITTED.

The front and O.S. rear jack spindles were bent during the previous test. The cause being deep ruts in the road allowing the respective wheels to drop in and deleting all clearance. It has not affected the working of the jacks. The fitting of these jacks certainly avoids the unpleasant manoeuvring of the loose jack on uneven roads during wet weather, that has been experienced of late. The operation is no slower, and the energy required no greater, than with a standard loose jack. At a mileage however of 7,500 the O.S. rear jack has been removed entirely off during a fast run on a secondary road. No trace of the jack could be found. The dust cover of the brake had been bent when this happened, also a portion of the brake drum has been broken off.

PETROL TANK to L.O.P.F.82193.

Incorporating Dashboard Control for Reserve.

The petrol tank and suspension have given no trouble. The control for reserve on the dashboard has not leaked or given any trouble.

FRONT APRON to Drg. F.84404.

The front apron where attached to the crossmember has cracked, and the cracks have started to travel up the apron.
