Bentley Chassis - New type Smith Electrical Petrol Gauge with aluminium support, larger float and warning light contacts for reserve supply - Standardisation Sheet X.6112

E.4/HP.10.9.35 - Like you, I am quite at a loss to understand Smith's suggested figure for the new type Electric petrol Gauge, and had expected a visit from Mr. Nichols of Smiths, ere this, to discuss revised proposals.

Meantime we have written Smiths yet again, with a view to expediting matters.

As you are aware, we have had a lot of difficulty during recent months with supplies generally from Messrs. Smith, not only on the score of quality but also of delivery.

ROY{Sir Henry Royce}
