SECRET. 640 STEDDOW Copy to Mr. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} H.I.H. H.W.S. Ray Sud. Is this a major mod Pws Motion Ph/SM B/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/M.24.6.37. WRAITH III. RADIATOR. It has been pointed out that the base of the Wraith III. radiator outer shell, and the lower shutter bearing plate come very close to the inner pot of the front wheel suspension and the nuts thereon. On N.Sch.5180 herewith we show proposals for dealing with this trouble. We propose to shorten the radiator side picture plate and to fasten it to the underside of the shutter bearing strip either by a angle piece of mild steel or by turning round horizontally the picture plate itself. We would be glad if the Works would say which of these schemes they prefer. With respect to the nuts on the inner suspension pot we propose to reduce the length of the three bosses shown on the scheme herewith and to use a lock nut where a clearance is fine. Att:N.Sch.5180.
