Dear Mr.Jones,

With regard to our telephone conversation, I find that it is impossible to send you any oil from the drum delivered last March. Unfortunately, owing to the fact that this drum was fitted with a very excellent tap, the contents of the new drum have been poured into it.

As soon as we have done a run on the new oil which you said you would send me, I will let you know the result as this might be a guide to see whether the old batch of oil has in any way deteriorated.
