-2- to carry out the necessary work at customers' houses, in view of the fact that there is a brazing operation. Does Mr. Bailey consider that the proposed new scheme is the best, especially considering the practicability of carrying on this changeover away from the works? Although we agree that this proposed changeover will obviate the possibility of serious accident, we do not think that the improved design does away with the excessive wear and tear which is noticeable on our steering ball joints, and we shall be glad to hear if Mr. Bailey has gone any further into the matter as regards ball joints such as those on the Halley lorry, which were drawn to his attention some time ago, which we understand met with his approval. We are certainly able to say that, as far as wear and tear is concerned, they have done excellent service, showing no appreciable wear after 50,000 miles. EP.{G.
