HEAD OFFICE AND FACTORY: INCHINNAN, RENFREWSHIRE INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LTD. MILEAGE DEPARTMENT (AREA "B") 80 CLAPHAM ROAD LONDON, S.W.9 TELEPHONES: RELIANCE 2662/3 OUR REF. R/WBT. YOUR REF. 5th March, 1935. W.A. ROBOTHAM, ESQ., Experimental Department, Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Robotham, Thank you for your letter of the 4th March. I have asked Captain Dugdale about the water excluders fitted to his front brakes, and he tells me that his Bentley has run 400-500 miles since they were fitted, including several runs under very wet conditions, and that the car has been washed the normal number of times, and that so far the water excluders have proved very satisfactory indeed - even immediately after washing. I note you would like two sets of our new Speed Special tyres for the Bentley of the new broadened tread type, as supplied to Mr. Summers. I am asking the factory to have these sent to you as soon as possible. I see that you say in your letter that you think you will be available any day next week. So I propose coming to Derby on Wednesday, March 13th, and hope you will have lunch with me on that day ? I also hope that, perhaps Mr. Royce will be able to join us at lunch; or, at any rate, that I shall have an opportunity of seeing him for a moment or two ? Perhaps you would be so kind as to mention the matter to him ? I do not want to bother him with a letter, as I know how busy he is. Yours sincerely, Rothes. | ||
