X4462 INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LTD. TELEPHONES: PAISLEY 4141/5. INCHINNAN TELEGRAMS: INDIAOWL, RENFREW. SCOTLAND OUR REF. PW/HDE. YOUR REF. 6th March, 1935. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, We have recently adopted for all of our production a new chromium plated Schrader 'Ezemount' valve fitting to replace the dust cap and rim nut which we have been supplying. You are aware that we have supplied chromium plated fittings to Bentley. I am sending you a sample valve assembly of the old type (not chromium plated) labelled 'A' and of the new type labelled 'B' also a 5.50/18 tube which has the new fitment. We should like you to examine this new fitting and let us know whether you are agreeable to accepting this fitment for Bentley in future. Our opinion is that it is a more attractive fitment than the old type and that it has only one objection and that is, that there is nothing on the new type which can be used for the removal of the valve core. We, therefore, propose to supply with every set of 5 tubes a small tool similar to the sample I am sending you. This tool will be packed in an envelope which will bear a printed description of its purpose. Meantime, we will continue to supply the present valve fitment until such time as you agree to accept the new type of dust cap. Yours faithfully, INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED. Paul worth.
