I feel satisfied that we have got the correct machine at the correct price. It will be understood that we do not want to buy below cost because we know that it will only result in our losing the source of supply, so that if we get the very best job and something which satisfies our severe and careful criticism, we expect to pay a reasonable price for the article, but so that we can continue in business ourselves, and so give further orders for these articles, the price must be a commercial one.

re. CLOCKS.
X4662~.

I cannot quite understand at what price the order has been given for the present supply of black dialed, ordinary dashboard mounted clocks, the only extra for which appears to be the change in the winder for greater convenience. I cannot see how this should increase the price from £1. 5. 0. to £3.

It will be understood that we do not want to stock a large number of any accessories that will prevent our fitting (at an early date) the framed grouped instruments, which one thinks will so improve the appearance of the dashboard as to be imperative that we get it moving as quickly as possible, and for the next show cars.

It was found that the cream enamelled dial and the lighting arrangement made the instrument board illumination too effective. This can easily be subdued, and it is possible that it may result in simplifying the arrangement, such as deleting the small reflector and the drilling of the glass.
