COPY. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Ey. Sft.{Mr Swift}1/DR.16.5.36. 25/30 HP. and Bentley Dynamo Drive. With further reference to E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.5.5.36 regarding the above, we now find that the slackness referred to has been the cause of Engine Gear rattles. We have received complaints from the Test Dept. of these and they have been traced to the slack fit of the rubber drive. This has been proved by wrapping the rubber blocks around with tape to take up the slack. Will you please say if a closer fit can be given as seems advisable to avoid deterioration of the rubber and would also assist us in Engine Gear quietening. We would suggest that the Driving Block E.87011 be returned to Makers for re-moulding of the rubber to a larger diameter and closer tolerance. Sft.{Mr Swift} | ||
