PETROL SUPPLY SYSTEM & TANK. (1) Petrol must be filtered close to the carburetter. (2) Pipe lines outside frame and petrol filter in a cool place to avoid vapour lock. (3) Silence of petrol pump. (4) Adequate delivery at all speeds. (5) Effect of various types of fuel on pump diaphragms. (6) Effect of altitude. (7) Fumes from over-filling and spilling from the vent. (8) Tank drumming. (9) Tank weight. This should not be more than per lb. of petrol carried. (10) Immunity from puncture by means of a stone guard, or the thickness of material. Continental work two-thirds, including 50% mountain work. London traffic one-third. | ||
