HIGH SPEED STEERING WOBBLES.

Mr. Royce thinks several chassis should be utilised for these experiments, one atleast being a Silver Ghost so that the difference, as regards this trouble between the old and new cars, may be ascertained, if it really exists.

(1) Producing the wobbles by out of balance wheels - is more out of balance required with this damped pendulum lever than without, and if so, how much more.

(2) Is more out of balance required with the Silver Ghost type than with the new PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I and how much more.

(3) Continuing the experiments (which we understand have already been begun) on the effect of different tyre pressures, what is the difference, if any, between Silver Ghost and Phantom cars, in the road speed at which wobbles build up for the same tyre pressure, and is there a difference in the amount of out of balance required.

(4) On the Phantom can we fit an axle with or without front brakes in which the pivot is more vertical and the out of centre point greater, thus :-

existing.

greater than existing.

(5) On a Phantom, take out the engine, and stay the frame in plan, with angles and gussets thus :-
