K5075 To Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}; from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/KW.26.3.35. 20/25 Torque Reaction Dampers. With reference to the attached correspondence, these torque reaction dampers are not exactly similar to what we have been using because we now ask them to do less work and in consequence they are made of lighter material. We do not think it necessary to wait for a 10,000 miles test. They are at present fitted to 21-G-IV which will be running in France shortly. We have handed the drawings of these dampers over to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} A few sets can of course be made by hand if they are wanted immediately. As far as we can see the existing tools will make the new parts, but we are asking By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to go into this matter with Sft.{Mr Swift} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
