EXTRACT FROM Bt {Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} 's DIARY From AIX LES BAINS. "I've come across quite a good looking shock absorber on an American car here. The French driver was in raptures over it. It is really an improved type of adjustable Hartford but the method of altering the pressure on the plates is much easier and quick whilst there are two gauges with small dial faces which shew the pressure applied. Pressure is increased very easily and quickly by little revolving cranks and can be released instantaneously by pressing a button. On the car I saw the gauges and cranks were fitted in easy sight and reach of the driver just below the steering wheel. 2 gauges and 2 cranks for shock absorbers. Amortisseur Duffaux, 89, Rue Baudin, Levallois, PARIS. I tried the car in the garage by swaying it by hand, - the range of control seemed ample." | ||
