For the attention of Mr. G.R.N.Minchin.

Dear Sirs,

We beg to confirm the various points taken up between ourselves and your Mr. Minchin yesterday afternoon, during his visit to our premises.

[Handwritten annotation] X3398
P & R BDW.11 Battery for 40/50 Car. It was stated that we had under consideration the standardisation of two simultaneous standard batteries for the 40/50 car, one of which was your type BDW.11, three samples of which you have recently sent to us in teak cases with your patent system of holding down bolts.
These batteries have given us good results, both on bench tests and on the road.
Regarding modifications required to this battery, which [handwritten in margin: modfn] we have finally decided upon as standard, there is only the question of terminals, and we explained to Mr. Minchin that we should require the terminals of the flat nut type, similar to those at present in use on our standard Exide battery, a sample of which terminal shank and nuts, we handed to Mr. Minchin. It was stated that we should prefer the diameter of the bolt to be the same. It was not necessary for the thread to be identical, though it is certainly desirable to have a fine thread rather than a coarse one.
