It is intended shortly to issue standardisation sheets for :- (1) Larger battery, alternatively :- (a) Exide battery type 6XR5 (b) P & R type E.D.W.11. (2) Starter motor cables increased about 50% in cross sectional area of conductor. (3) Two series, two parallel arrangement of field windings of starter motor for increased activity. We are giving you this advance note in case you should have any idea of causing an order to be placed for batteries of the present standard, which I understand are at present delivered up to the end of contract; also that you may be able to have enquiries placed with Messrs. Glover for suitable cable nearest standard to 126/85's, and see what this means as regards the carrying of these conductors in the tubes - this matter, of course, being not a question of experiment.
