1st ENGINE - 1st RUN 22-7-21 ORIGINAL To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to C.J. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hal/1.G22. 22.7.21. X4219 X4247 "GOSHAWK 11" ENGINE AND GEAR BOX UNITS. We have had the above engine running on the Test Bench. The first impression of the engine running is very pleasing. The valve mechanism appears to be very quiet. So far we have had very little load on the engine; it has simply been run light. The testing of this engine will be carried out during the time the works are closed for the holidays, so by the time the holidays are over, we hope to have a considerable amount of information with reference to this engine.
