L. Pomeroy, Esq.,

Dear Mr. Pomeroy,

Many thanks for your letter of the 13th (unsigned but which I assume is from you) relative to the Bentley V car.

It is quite true that we were disappointed with your reference to maximum speed, but on going into the matter we came to the conclusion that you were perfectly justified in what you said, and to be quite frank I would say that the car ought never to have been submitted to you in the condition it was when you first tried it. If war conditions had not prevailed, it would not have occurred.

I am delighted to note that as the result of your further trial you now consider the car to be one of the fastest on the road over a long distance. We certainly do claim that it is a car on which you can put up a really marvellous average, and one on which even after a very long drive, one has not the same feeling of tiredness as on most cars.

I note that you are writing another article, and I appreciate that for the reasons indicated in the last paragraph of your letter, you have to use a certain discretion.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

(A.F. Sidgreaves).
