x5530 W/S. To Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By E.1/HP.29.5.34. New Instrument Boards 20/25 HP. Referring to your memo Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}18/KW.25.5.34, we think you ought to see the new fitting for the carburetter control in the flesh as it is not easy to judge these things from the drawing. The control is actually fitted to chassis 21-G-IV. The body of the device is circular to match the general layout and the fact that the lever has a knob sticking out at one side we do not regard as a disadvantage as it is much more effective than a twist knob for indicating that the mixture has been turned to normal. The importance of this will be seen when it is realised that after starting up it will generally be necessary to run with the control set a few notches strong for a short period and unless the driver eventually adjusts the control to normal a very poor consumption will be the result.
