- 3 - S.8/MP.1.11.33. (22) Fan. We now recommend that we go ahead with the new type of fan for 200 sets as fitted to the 10,000 mile car. (25) Propeller Shaft Universal Joints. We wish to cancel the 25 sets of plain bearing joints which were agreed to by memo No.S/T.4.10.33 and transfer these to 20/25 production. We now recommend going ahead with these joints converted to needle roller bearings for 200 sets commencing with the first chassis. (26) Modified Water Pipe to Carburetter Jackets. We recommend instructing 200 of the breeches type of pipe. There are one or two additional items that have arisen and which we are adding to the above list. (27) Rear Axle. This section is already instructed for 200 sets but we now propose to add 10 sets of 11/43 ratio bevels as they are likely to be required for certain of the cars. (28) Instruments. We recommend that we go ahead with 50 sets. (29) Lamps. A decision with regard to the lamps is still unsettled and is awaiting Sales. This affects the dip switch and wiring. (30) Jacking pads. It is recommended that we go ahead with 50 sets of jacking pads as although these have not yet been tested it is very necessary to make some provision for jacking up the car owing to the almost practical impossibility of getting the jack under the axle. The fitting of this device to the 10,000 mile car was delayed by the necessity for returning this car to England but it is assumed that the Experimental Department will have completed the necessary testing of this attachment before any production cars are despatched. | ||
