- 2 - approximately 100 pumps of the original type to be used up with plugs. (9) Sec.5181. Petrol Pump. It is agreed that the S.U. Co. will supply 200 sets of complete pumps, we on our part supplying them with moulded covers incorporating fuses. It is recommended that these pumps will be accepted on a capacity test and will not be dismantled for inspection. (11) Sec.5230. Exhaust Fittings. We now recommend instructing 200 sets like the 10,000 mile car except the parts which are lagged, and these parts we should propose to limit to 50 sets in mild steel pending the standardization of staybrite. (12) Sec.5232. Exhaust Cutout. We recommend going ahead with 50 sets but with the stronger toggle spring which is fitted to the 10,000 mile car. (13) Sec.5250 Radiator. Sec.5251 Radiator Shutters We now recommend going ahead with 200 sets. (14) Sec.5260 Bonnet. We recommend it would be safe at this stage to instruct 200 sets of bonnet material, but sft.{Mr Swift} to go hand to mouth with production requirements as per W.r.6/T.4.10.33. (15) Sec.6000 Flywheel and Clutch. We recommend going ahead with 200 sets but with the damping springs on the clutch coupling to the lower rating found desirable by the Experimental Department. (17) Sec.6080 Change Gear. We recommend that the all bakelite grip without metal insert be instructed for production. This scheme definitely overcomes certain production difficulties and the Experimental Department are satisfied as far as they have been able to test it that the new grip will be satisfactory although it has not yet done the required distance on a car. We are rather forced to make a decision on this because of making the die one way or the other. | ||
