X1336 INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY, LTD. TELEPHONES: PAISLEY 4141/5. INCHINNAN SCOTLAND TELEGRAMS: INDIATYRE, RENFREW. OUR REF. PW/IK. YOUR REF. 10th June, 1936. W.A. Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, Thank you for your letter of 9th June. We have telephoned to Bramber and they tell us that the wheels have been rebuilt with the 4" rim and returned to you. These wheels have 1 3/8" offset from the flange hub to the centre line instead of the 2" offset which you think would be most suitable. We note, however, you do not think that this will be detrimental to your test on road holding and, therefore, we will ship four tyres to you on Friday so that you should have them by Monday. Bramber tell us that they could quite easily alter these wheels to give you the offset shown on your B.P.G.B.2317 so that if you experience any difficulties in the test, the wheels can be changed. We have had a wire this morning from Mr. Hall telling us that the Le Mans Race is cancelled. This is rather bad luck as we were sure that the Bentley would make a very good showing in the Race. We would be pleased to hear from you regarding the results of the test on the latest tyres and if there is anything else we can do, please let us know. Yours faithfully, INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY, LTD. Paul Lunde. Works Manager. | ||
