WORM AXLE (Strength of Casing)

Written by Mr Royce March 5th. 1912.

Handed to T.C. on March 8th.

Mr Royce said -

Tests should be made to see if cross tie rod can be done away with. A sound but scrapped casting should be taken and the tubes attached, the axle should then be supported at both ends of the tubes and the centre loaded.

The loads deflected and failures should be noted.
