Dear von Winterfeldt,

You will doubtless have heard from Robinson that, when you were away last October, I wrote to him asking him to make enquiries for me, without saying that it was anything to do with Rolls-Royce, in regard to the latest type of 12-cylinder Maybach car, and he replied on the 8th October and gave me the price of a 6-seater limousine as Mk.29.700 and the earliest delivery 4 weeks and possibly 8 weeks.

The terms were said to be: 50% with order and 50% on delivery, and 10% - 12% to the trade.

For various reasons nothing further was done about the matter at that time but it is now revived and I should be glad if you would make enquiries and wire me the earliest delivery and the best terms on which you could get one - still of course not disclosing that it is for us.

Whether you would do this direct or through a friend in the trade, I leave to you.

If we decide to purchase, we shall probably send over in order to take delivery and bring it back.

I assume that this can be done without entailing much additional expense in the way of having to license the car in Germany? Thanking you in anticipation of your reply,

Yours sincerely,

Herr Hans Detlof von Winterfeldt,
Pariser Platz, 3,
Berlin, W.8.
