X7941 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, FRANCE. 7.7.32. 19-EX. We have fitted the new piston and the car has resumed its mileage. We carried out tests as mentioned in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KT.27.6.32. re. tinniness of exhaust system. (1) The lagging of the downpipe gave no appreciable result. (2) The lagging of the intermediate pipe gave no appreciable result. (3) The lagging of the front expansion box gave approx. 50% less tinniness. We shall try out the combination of the 8 S.W.G. at a later date. G.W.H. | ||
