RE AMERICAN CHASSIS.

(2) STARTING MOTOR X-3740.4304

We have recommended the Bijur from a general inspection at New York before shipping the model. This also has been favourably considered be Mr. Royce. The Bijur motor was very well thought of in 1913 during our tests in England.

It has the advantage for America that it will turn the engine faster than our own motor. See enclosed report to Mr. Royce.

The carcase would be modified by the makers to fit the existing epicyclic gear casing, and the spindle to fit the existing sun-wheel.

The suspension brackets would be modified by us to take the Bijur machine.

On both the above parts the brush gear would be modified by the makers to meet your recommendations, if you feel that the existing brush gear is too crude.

The makers have signified their willing-ness to make such changes as we recommend, but naturally extensive changes will delay production.
