X6135 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD. June 21st, 1932. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons, Ltd Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. Dear Sirs, We beg to confirm the visit of your Mr. Manwaring to our Works on the 20th inst. when various points concerning the dials of the Smith instruments fitted to our 20/25 chassis were discussed. It was arranged that you would submit as early as possible sample dials more after the style of the oil pressure gauge which Mr. Manwaring took away with him. We are sending you herewith another dial removed from a similar instrument which you can more easily examine. We should be glad if you will additionally offer us any other sample dials of a more distinctive character than our existing 20/25 chassis instruments, for comparison. Will you also arrange to send us a sample standard Smith dial with the R.R. monogram neatly executed in the centre, as our Sales Dept. are particularly asking for this. We trust you will be able to help us in these matters as speedily as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
