The advantages and disadvantages of an exhaust cutout system on a 40/50 model.

The cutout arranged in a similar manner as the present 40/50 gives us maximum power and maximum noise with the cutout open, and the present standard of silence when it is shut. The disadvantage is that the exhaust gasses are liable to get into the body if the car is luffed up with the cutout open.
