casing when ready, in place of the Remy. The Remy would
then be carried by an aluminium piece which would fit on to
the flange suitable for the R.R. battery ignition. X.2814.
Would you also arrange to drive the Remy with
a coupling similar in design to the one we have shown on
our drawings. We cannot see the reason for the differential
selector coupling you have shown on scheme 236, in view of
the fact that the Remy cam and rotor are able for the purposes
of adjustment to be slipped round on a cone on the driving
shaft. The cancelling of this driving piece considerably
shortens the attachment which is a great advantage as any-
thing projecting backwards from the engine is very objection-
able.
The camshaft you will observe remains unaltered.
An inspection door should be used of a similar
pattern to the one shown on our drawings.
Further to the forgoing the control gear
should be arranged as per LeC.862.
I think that you will find that the direction
of movement of the various levers applies to the "Falcon" as
shown on the aforementioned drawing.
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
With the exception that the movement of the primary
lever on the control shaft appears to be in the opposite
direction, owing to possibly the carburetter controls
closing differently from the "Eagle".
