Dear Sirs,

Further to your letter of the 23rd March, we are working on the lines you suggested and hope shortly to have some samples to show you. There is one point which has occurred to the writer with reference to the central lamp you propose using for your dipped beam, and we should much like to have your views on the suggestion. We think that it would give an unsymmetrical appearance to the car if the central lamp were mounted at the required angle, and the present suggestion is that the lamp body itself should be arranged to face straight ahead but that we should mount one of our swivelling reflectors inside with a simple screwed adjustment which would be accessible by removing the front, and this would provide any required angle of dip. For continental use it would only be necessary to swing round the reflector on its mounting to the opposite hand, and if you could pre-determine the angle required, it would be a simple matter to provide two locations which could be marked "Home" and "Continental" or in some other suitable manner.

Headlamps. We are pleased to note that you seem satisfied with the standard P.100 projection of light, but we have had one or two criticisms to the effect that for this country at any rate, the beam is too concentrated and a more diffused flood lighting effect would be appreciated for use on winding roads where very high speeds are not required. To meet this condition we have been experimenting with what we term an acid etch bulb which has the same effect as a heavily diffused front glass, but it is more convenient and adaptable
