B.50 GEARBOX.

We have got to get this box quiet in the minimum possible time. We therefore ask you to urge the following three experiments.

(1) The 17/33 1st. speed ratio.
(2) The steady bearing on the layshaft discussed with Bellamy.
(3) We want to lap a 1st. speed wheel against a pinion and then run it with an unlapped pinion. The wheel will have acquired some tip relief by this method.
