Description: LUCAS R.100 type headlamps fitted with dipping mechanism and changeover switch in each lamp 48 watt lamp bulbs to be fitted.
Purpose: To provide an easy means of changing over from L.H. dipping to R.H. dipping for customers taking their cars to the continent.
Brief Report and Remarks:
The complete changeover is made by a simple alteration to the switch in each lamp.
One pair rigged up on 3.B.IV. and works quite satisfactory.

Production Position and Comments:
In addition to the above increase in cost, there is also an increase in Factory Cost of 1/- per Chassis in respect of the alteration to Wiring already instructed as a standard feature. Dipping mechanism and changeover switch in each lamp increases Factory Cost of chassis, Lucas charge being 4/- with an additional 1/- wiring cost. This modification may be introduced without scrap at 37/th. chassis in 'M' series.
A Lucas Tool charge of £45.0.0. is involved, which also covers a similar alteration to Phantom III headlamps (Std. sheet P.25). RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}
