To Sg.{Arthur F. CHASSIS 1644. ------------------ The engine in this chassis is fitted with the following new parts :- (1) Connecting rods with detachable bushes. These have been standardised and will be fitted to the next series of 20 HP. cars. There is no reason therefore that these rods should be changed. A note has been made on the records for this chassis that these rods are fitted. (2) Pistons with 5 narrow rings instead of the present standard 3 narrow and one wide ring. These pistons have been standardised and will shortly be fitted to production cars. There is no reason therefore that these should be changed. (3) The crankshaft in this engine was lapped before fitting. This is an improved method of production and is being used on all crankshafts. We agree with the scheme that 1644 chassis should be sold and that a new 20 HP. chassis should be built when required to replace it. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
