RE: 20 H.P. CHASSIS NO. 1644.

We are waiting to hear what is decided in regard to this car, i.e. whether we sell it as a standard car and let Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} build up another for 10,000 miles test.

We gather that none of the new features have been fitted to this chassis, but that it was Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' intention to incorporate them when the body was fitted, in the same way as he was going to incorporate the shorter steering and pedals nearer the dash.

JSg.

P.S.
Since dictating the above, we have had a conversation with you on the telephone, and gather that you would prefer that this car be sold. If we can have definite confirmation of this we can proceed accordingly.

With regard to a body being put in hand for another one, your remarks on this subject were conveyed to the C.S.O and discussed this morning. It was felt that the best way of dealing with the matter would be for you to let us have your requirements for a body, and the C.S.O. will then decide who should be asked to build it and obtain a specification and estimate which would be submitted to you before the body was ordered.

Once the body was ordered it would probably be best if you accepted the responsibility for an inspection of the work whilst in progress so that you could see that your special wishes were carried into effect.
