| S/W. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Handwritten: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}] Chassis NoB-IIO-DG - Geoffrey Smith. Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}8/KW11.11.35. BY informs me in BY/Cgh.{W Clough}16/G8.11.35 that you would like to have this car back to put right the matter of the bearings, which are lead bronze. As you may know, Mr.Geoffrey Smith has found that the oil consumption has gone up to almost double what it was before and that the engine is very noisy when starting up cold, although when warmed up it resumes it normal condition as regards noise. I do not think he is very happy with these bearings as things are, and no doubt when you next have his car in to do something to it you will probably put something in that can stay in permanently and will not trouble him. Will you please say, therefore, if you are now ready to receive his car for that purpose, when no doubt I can arrange for him to let you have it. I am very anxious, of course, to cause him the least possible amount of inconvenience in connection with this job. I will await your reply before I tell Mr.Geoffrey Smith anything. Cx.{Major Len W.
