For the attention of Mr. Martin-Hurst.

Dear Sirs,

We have received your letters of Oct. 26th and Oct. 30th, for which we thank you, and also the two sample strengthened base thermostats.

We regret to say however, that our management have decided that we have not had enough satisfactory running experience with the latest scheme using B.G.A.2073A units to justify putting it into production.

We shall, therefore, either postpone the standardisation of a thermostatic bypass system until we consider that we have had adequate experience with same, or else adopt the scheme which we originally used on Bentley, and on which we have had the majority of running, i.e. using a bellow unit to drawing EB.667. It might interest you to know that we have just removed the General Motors' thermostat unit from an Oldsmobile car which we have (1937 model) and this has failed at some period.

The writer is at the moment awaiting a decision on the question of which line of action we adopt.

We think that the work we have done on the schemes tested so far has not been wasted since we have learnt a lot of possible snags and defects with these units, and have formulated
