Typed: Bonnet, test whether louvres are necessary. X.55 This experiment has been in the Experimental shop about 10 months. Do you propose to do anything with it or can I write to Mr Royce suggesting that it be cancelled ?. p. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/ Handwritten: Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} This is not on my list now. It has been transferred to Mr Hives. I have made no definite tests as the tests would have to be so very extended. I have made observations when running cars for other purposes and my opinion is that louvres are not necessary in this country. Some kind of air outlet in the bonnet may be desirable in the short spell of hot weather we sometimes get but this would only be to keep the floor slightly cooler and not to benefit the engine cooling system.
