It appears to have been very hot and the leads of the various wires have drooped until some of them have rubbed off the insulation on the armature wires. We may be able to patch it up again but so far have not had time to take it to pieces. It would be wise to prepare another dynamo. I am afraid that the dynamo will have to withstand a very high temperature in its present position when used in hot countries and if it is possible to get some of the exhaust heat away from the dynamo, I think it would be advantageous. While on the subject of heat, we find that the battery gets very hot and I believe some of them will fail due to the high temperature. The spare battery which we bought out here is made by Paul Gadot of Levallois and we find that the pitch filling on the top of the cells has melted and run down on to the plates. Also this has caused the covers of the cells to drop down. We have had the cracked cell case of the Exide battery
