X7120. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re 19-EX. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E2.3.32 Copy to Wsr. Referring to the above car which is due to start a 10,000 mile test the middle of this month with various new points including synchromesh, I believe it is already fitted up with S.U. carburetters and the other special engine features as on 27-EX. I am very anxious that the start of the trial should not be delayed and, therefore, propose that, although we have not approved of the two S.U. carburetters on 27-EX, we should let 19-EX go forward as it will still do the necessary in regard to proving that the engine will or will not stand up to the extra power.
