With reference to the second paragraph of your above Memorandum. I send you copy of R3/M10.8.22, which deals with this question. I see you did not get a copy of this. This Memorandum of R's does not definitely state straight out that Hartford Shock Absorbers shall not be fitted to thick leaf springs, but you will see that it says - "Always change to thin leaf if customer complains". We should not be fitting Hartford Shock Absorbers to a customer's car if he was entirely satisfied, but it is only when he complains that we fit Hartford Shock Absorbers. Immediately he complains, in R's ruling we must fit thin leaf springs.

I have spoken to BJ. about this and he agrees with me, and he says that instructions have been sent out on this question.

With reference to the rest of your Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 9/W20.9.23, I have made arrangements for either Capt. Burt or myself to meet Lady Vincent Meredith on Monday morning. I will then let you have more details.
