| To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} x7961 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}18/KW. 29.1.35. Chassis No. B-66-AH. Pocock. Replying to Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}15/HR. 25.1.35. We are in the process of standardising a clutch for the Bentley which will have a better life than the one at present being used. It is quite certain, however, that Mr. Pocock does not use his clutch in the ordinary manner because we have many cases where cars have run 30,000 miles or more and the clutch has been in perfect condition. As we cannot offer him a new design of clutch for some time, the logical thing to do would appear to be to let somebody drive with him and see what he is doing to destroy the clutch.
