The decision of the Administrative Board in this matter is the more surprising seeing that the Company through a responsible official, agreed (as witnessed by the Rev Prebendary, see his M.S.) - that the cost of the land in church-yard for the grave (amounting to Thirty Guineas) would be borne by them - but which cost was subsequently waived by the Church Trustees (see copy of their letter enclosed) and which amount if applied to the memorial would have gone far to cover the cost. I am of course aware (although I have no knowledge of the extent) that a provision has been made for the unfortunate widow & child of my son, but this still leaves his grave without a stone, & I would therefore most respectfully ask if you have interest to make a move for a favourable re-consideration of the decision referred to. yours obediently W.H.
